Mr. Rose is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation, positions he has held since March 2002. Previously, Mr. Rose held the following positions at Burlington Northern or its predecessors: president and chief executive officer (December 2000 to March 2002); president and chief operating officer (June 1999 to December 2000); and senior vice president and chief operations officer (August 1997 to June 1999). Mr. Rose joined BNSF in 1993.

Mr. Rose also serves as a director for AMR Corporation. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri.
