Timothy R. Eller is chairman and chief executive officer of Centex Corporation. Dallas-based Centex, founded in 1950, is one of the nation's leading home building companies. Centex operates in major U.S. markets in 22 states. Its leading brands include Centex Homes, Fox & Jacobs Homes, and CityHomes.

In addition to its home building operations, Centex's business lines include mortgage and title services. Centex has ranked among the top three builders on FORTUNE magazine's list of "America's Most Admired Companies" for nine straight years and is a leader in quality and customer satisfaction.

Mr. Eller joined Centex Homes' Illinois operation in 1973. He became vice president of the company's Minnesota division in 1977 and division president in 1981. In 1985, he was named executive vice president of Centex Real Estate Corporation/Centex Homes. In July 1991, he was named president and chief executive officer of Centex Homes and served as chairman of Centex Homes from April 1998 until April 2003. In August 1998, Mr. Eller was named executive vice president of Centex Corporation and in April 2002, assumed the position of president and chief operating officer. Mr. Eller was elected to the Board of Directors of Centex in July 2002 and assumed the additional roles of chairman and chief executive officer in April 2004.

Mr. Eller, 59, has a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Nebraska.

Mr. Eller is chairman of the High Production Home Builders Council of the National Association of Home Builders and is a life trustee of the National Housing Endowment. He is a past-chairman of the Policy Advisory Board for Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies and continues to serve on the Board. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Nature Conservancy of Texas and of the Southwestern Medical Foundation.
