About the Area

Woodbury is centrally located in southeast Charlotte. Its proximity to I-485 provides easy access to all the major employment centers of Charlotte, as well as excellent shopping and dining.

In 20 minutes you can be in Concord or Cornelius enjoying the recreation opportunities of Lake Norman, Charlotte Motor Speedway (home of NASCAR), and the shopping and dining in and around the Concord Mills Mall area. Or head 20 minutes south and enjoy all the upscale retail and entertainment venues of the Ballantyne area. It's also a quick 20 minute trip to uptown, for work or play.

Medical

Two of the largest hospital systems in the southeast are in Charlotte. Carolinas HealthCare System and Presbyterian Healthcare have multiple hospital locations across the Charlotte metro, including the state-of-the-art Levine's Children's Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center. Gaston Memorial Hospital and Veterans of Foreign Affairs Medical Center are both located in Gaston County.

With a wide range of specialists and nationally recognized teaching and research institutions, the spectrum of services available to area residents continues to grow while the cost of health care remains below the national average.

Recreation

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, check out the National Whitewater Center or one of the many parks throughout Charlotte for hiking, mountain biking, or picnicking. Head north to Lake Norman or south to Lake Wylie for water sports, boating, and fishing.

Hop on I-485 for a short 20 minute drive to take advantage of the shopping and entertainment venues in the University and Lake Norman area, or head to Concord Mills Mall, North Carolina's number one tourist attraction. The mall features 200 stores, including manufacturer and retail outlets, off-price retailers, and unique speciality stores like Bass Pro Shop. A NASCAR-themed fun park and a 24-screen AMC theater are also part of the fun.

Nearby, visit the newly constructed Great Wolf Lodge that features a year-round indoor water park with fun for the whole family. Work on your golf game at the nearby Larkhaven or Charles T Myers golf courses, or visit Reedy Creek Park for some quality outdoor time.

Transportation

Charlotte is located at the crossroads of I-77 and I-85 near the North Carolina and South Carolina border. With an average of 644 airline flights daily, Charlotte Douglas International Airport provides easy access to the U.S. and the world, with non-stop service to 127 destinations.

The Charlotte LYNX light-rail system gives south Charlotte residents a quick alternative to commuting uptown, and the CATS bus system provides public transportation options throughout the city.
